President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday congratulated renowned hip-hop artistes, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun (WizKid) and David Adedeji Adeleke (Davido), on their awards at the Music of Black Origin.

In a statement by his Special Adviser onMedia and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, thePresident joined the teeming fans of theartistes in Nigeria and all over the world

the artistes in Nigeria and all over the world in celebrating therecognition, which saw WizKid winning “International BestArtiste’’ award, while Davido picked the “Best African Act’’.

The statement read in part, “ThePresident affirms that both singers haveshowcased the rich talents in thecountry, and brought pride to the nationthrough their many songs andperformances, commending theirdedication, hard work and charity works.

“President Buhari also calls on the upwardly mobile artistes to be cautious and mindful of likely distractions to their careers, urging WizKid and Davido to serve as ambassadors of the country and role models to upcoming musicians.”
